CNC TURNING/LATHE
Turning refers to the process in which a single cutting tool is positioned parallel to the surface of the material to be machined. Although some turning processes are performed manually, most turning at Wolverine Carbide and Tool is executed via CNC lathes. The primary turning operations offered are turning, facing, parting, grooving, drilling, and thread cutting. The shape, size, and cutting performed on a lathe is directly dependent upon the size and type of the single-point cutting tool installed on the lathe. The angle of the tool is also crucial. Additionally, Wolverine Carbide and Tool utilizes “Live Tooling” on its CNC lathes that allow for many common milling operations to be completed in the lathe, thus dispensing with the need to move the work piece into another machine. This ability translates to additional savings to our customers. |
